While I was searching for the Model Airplane News article I found another Platt 109 review by Horst Michael Birkoff on the web but the jpegs were to small to read. After many mouse clicks I found his email and this his reply with larger jpegs attached. "Unbelievable... 30 years after I buildt that plane someone requests the article! I checked and found the magazine... even still have an original kit for the 109.

Dave Platt Me-109 part 2
When the Platt Bf-109 or Me-109 showed up at the flying field, this 1/5 scale warbird was definitely a game changer. We had got word of this model when local scale scale modeller and hobby store owner(Cellar Dweller Hobbies) Gerry Fingler did an review article on the Platt Me109 for Model Air Plane News in the March 1981 issue. The photographer for the article, Blaine Raymond worked at CKY CTV TV station and Blaine was able to get "Sylvia" the weather girl to post with the Platt 109 and the photo made the cover.
In 1960, I began aeromodelling at the age of 6 and that led to a lifetime of aviation reading and research for aeromodelling subjects with a strong interest in warbirds and unique aviation personalities. I've been fortunate to be attend EAA Airventure Oshkosh many times, Gathering of Legends at Duxford UK, in 2015, the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends in 2007 as well as many other aviation events. A highlight was a demo ride with the late Bob Hoover in the Shrike Commander at the 1984 Maple Leaf International Airshow at Gimli, Manitoba. Now retired from full time work, I do aeromodelling and aviation research full time when not visiting my two grandsons, Lennox and Edison! I'm also on Facebook as Kpk Warbirds.
