Classic Glass F4F FM-2 Wildcat Kit

I'm thumbing through the June 1988 issue of Scale RC Modeler magazine when the ad on the bottom of the page catches my eye, a fiberglass kit for a Wildcat.

WOW what a deal - $275 in 1988 dollars for a beautiful semi kit that includes the retractable landing gear and we know how complicated the Wildcat landing gear is.

A google search finds a Classic Glass Wildcat kit that was sold this year for $1850.00, 19 years after the ad, the for sale thread shows that complicated landing gear,  Classic Glass Wildcat kit SOLD ad

That google search also turned up a 2014 SOLD ad for a completed Classic Glass F4F Wildcat with the original kit landing gear, which was retracted using two servoes and cable and pulleys. The Wildcat sold for $1750. Classic Glass Wildcat sold ad, NEAT!!

If you are into a rc warbird Wildcat, Laser Design Services sells a Jerry Bates short kit 91.25" wingspan LDS Bates Wildcat short kit and Robart sell the air operated retracts for the Jerry Bates plans, the Robart gear looks complicated too!

and of course I get the Classical Gas tune by Mason Williams mixed up with Classic Glass kits
